Combat Veterans Helping Combat Veterans " Anger is only one letter away from Danger!

Anger and Stress Management Skills Training is a great opportunity for veterans or anyone else who has a desire to work with active duty troops, their families and veterans suffering with anger, stress and PTSD issues. Anyone who completes this training will have the ability to work with active duty troops, their families and veterans teaching them the skills they need to understand and control their stress and anger. .

Chaplain Gibson is a disabled Vietnam combat veteran who was wounded and understand how combat veterans feel and think after returning home. He has taken and completed the Anger and Stress Management Skills Training course. He realized while taking the course that it could help active duty troops, their families and veterans understand their anger and stress, and maybe save a few from divorce or suicide. Furthermore he has always believes from experience that a large percentage of the flare ups with PTSD start out with overwhelming stress which turns into anger.

There are different reasons why active duty troops and combat veterans are committing suicide in record numbers today, one of the reasons is multiple deployments and high divorce rates. Divorce rates are at a record high in all branches of the military. They come home after multiple deployments and in many cases their families have packed up and left. This is when their stress and anger is at it's highest levels, and disaster often strikes. What we all must understand is that combat destroys everything good that our troops have ever believed or understood about life, relationships and God.

Many active duty troops and veterans will not seek help, they don't want people thinking they are crazy. They also have the fear that seeking help will destroy their military careers or once out of the military any chance of a decent job or civilian careers. We all need to stop and think, can we blame them, many of their fathers are Vietnam veterans and know how they have been treated.

When in combat they learn how to shut down their emotions as a means of survival. The problem is when they return home they have done it so much that it becomes automatic as a means of avoiding emotional pain. This will put them into dangerous situations at times when it comes to anger and stress. They can, and often times do, become a danger to themselves and those around them.

The Anger Management Skills Training program can help in many other different areas within our communities today. Churches would benefit by having trained members to help other members of their congregation deal with stress and anger. The training will open up a whole host of opportunities for churches, police departments, fire departments, companies, corporations, chaplains, pastors, priests and ministers as a tool to help them within their own institutions and for personal growth and professional development.
